The Oregon defense has given up more yards on the season and I wasn’t too impressed with the Ducks allowing UCLA 31 points in the PAC 12 conference championship game.

Wisconsin has been solid defensively allowing just 17 points and 293 yards a game.

The New Mexico Bowl will begin Saturday afternoon from Albuquerque New Mexico at 2PM Eastern Time and ESPN provides the live national television coverage.

The play of Wyoming freshman quarterback Bret Smith has been impressive during the year.

He is a dual threat who hits on over 60% of his passes and has rushed for nearly 700 yards with a 5 ½ yards per rush average.

The Cowboys played in the New Mexico bowl in the 2009 season and will have the site advantage in this game because their fans will make the short trip from Wyoming.

Doubt Temple will bring many fans from Philadelphia.

Wyoming has big bodies and experience on both the offensive and defensive line.

The Cowboys O line protected Smith very well this season.

There are a lot of seniors on the Wyoming roster as they returned 7 starters on both sides of the ball in the 2011 season.

Temple is just too one dimension hear as they rely solely on their running game.

Wyoming is excited to be in the New Mexico Bowl and in front of their fans they bring a strong effort here and cover this inflated number.

Navy is healthy and brings a more balanced attack in this rivalry game on Saturday.

Army has lost five of their past six games with the only win coming against Fordham.

In those five losses the Black Knights have been no closer than 10 points to any one of those opponents.

He has passed his concussion test.

Griffin III is completing nearly 73% of his passes with an incredible 34 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Texas has been a poor offensive team this season as quarterbacks David Ash and Case McCoy have not been impressive in moving their team.

The Longhorns have also been hit hard by injuries in their running back positions.

The Baylor offense has averaged 50 points and 615 offensive yards at home in 2011.

Explosive offenses of Oklahoma St put up 38 points on Texas and Oklahoma scored 55 points.

Texas will not be able to match scores against this Robert Griffin III led team.

This will expose Cavaliers quarterback Michael Rocco on third and distance situations and I have not been too impressed with him as his touchdown to interception ratio is 11/9.

I don’t want Rocco in big time spots and I expect the speed of the Hokies in the secondary will give him problems and force turnovers.

The better quarterback in this game is Virginia Tech signal caller Logan Thomas. They also have the better run game with 4.7 yards a carry.

I think back to that awful 49-7 bowl loss to Alabama. And the bad loss this year against Notre Dame.

Once again when the competition gets at its toughest the Spartans fail big time.
