For Wagering Purposes, When Are Baseball Games Official?

A baseball game does not have to be completed for bets to be valid. After 5 innings of play, moneyline wagers are considered to be official. 4.5 innings if the home team is winning.

All runline and total wagers become official when nine innings have been completed. (Eight and a half innings in case the home team wins). In the event that a baseball game is called before nine innings have been played, all Total and Runline bets on the game will be declared as No Action. In case a game goes at least nine innings and it’s NOT finished (such as rain or darkness or suspension)Wagers can be settled with rule 3.

If a game of baseball is still not complete after nine full innings, (i.e. stopped, rain delay, or lack of light)Bets placed on the total runs scored and the runline will still see action.

If a game is suspended, the score as of the last finished inning will be the offical score for all bets, unless the score is changed by the home team within their part of the inning. If that is the case, wagers will be settled based on the score when the game was suspended.

Any bets placed on games that are suspended or postponed do not carry over to the rescheduled time.

What games are added for betting sporting events?

Games that are unique and not a part of the usual Vegas rotation are called added games. Generally this involves the smaller schools, since they are harder to get information on they are added later. Added games are circled,in order to offset the lack of information. They are subject to a reduced betting maximum, they cannot be included in parlays and teasers..

Like the normal Las Vegas rotation the odds that are quoted at the time you place your bet will be the odds that will be used to settle your bets regardless if any line changes.

It is not necessary for the soccer game to go the full time in order for the bet to be valid
For gambling purposes, games are official at the 40 minute point of the second half.

Three conclusions to a Moneyline wager are picking either team to win or pick a draw. If the game ends in a tied score and you chose not to select a draw, your wager will be lost.

Unless otherwise specified, the score at the end of regulation play 90 minutes plus injury time for purposes of the bet. Non inclusive as a result of extra time are golden goals or penalty shootouts.

How does Sportsbooks deal with Pointspread Errors?

Any odds that are printed are subject to change; they are printed simply to inform the public. However, with the exception of obvious line errors, the odds that are quoted at the time bets are accepted shall be deemed valid and will be used to determine winners, losers, and ties.

Sportsbooks will posses a record of scores and statistics from sporting events to protect players and the sportsbook in case of any type of error.
Printing mistakes and other information malfunctions are not the responsibility of the sportsbooks.

Any sportsbook has the right to let the public know about clear errors or mistakes that they’ve made. (e.g. inaccurate odds postings), and to make the appropriate adjustments.

Any and all single bets will be graded “Void” and all money to cover said bets will be returned to players’ accounts,in the case of an obvious error on a posted line. Any parlay including such a line will be reduced as necessary. The line replacing the obvious error will be deemed the true line or odds for betting purposes,and sportsbooks will adjust the line appropriately to remedy the situation. This rule must be understood and accepted by players who notice the error.

In sports betting, what is a Point Spead?

Generally, the point spread is the factor (it’s the runline in baseball) the person who sets the line gives an advantage or handicap to the apparently weaker opponent. The favorite must win by more than the point spread,rather than just winning outright. (beat the spread) to cover bets on the favorite.

How about if the Arizona Cardinals are playing against the Indianapolis Colts in an NFL game. Indications are the Cardinals being the underdog while the Colts will be the favorites. A linesmaker may decide to give the Cardinals a four-point advantage. The line would be Colts -4/ Cardinals +4, and it you bet on the Colts, you would only win if they prevail by five points or more. (Even if you deduct four points from thier score, their score is higher.). Betting on the Cardinals means that you’ll win so long as they don’t lose by anymore than 3 points. (for example, add four points to their score if it is higher than yours). In the event that the point adjustment produces a tie. (i.e. the Colts win by no more and no less than four points)the bet will be considered a “push” and your bet will be refunded Determined by the moneyline odds attached to the point spread is how much you stand to win. If odds are not shown, then the line is said to be standard. (for example: minus one ten).
